I almost missed this one but today Positron issued a statement about open beta. There's nothing remarkable in it, though Posi does reiterate that the Patron Powers and Ancilliary Powers were imbalanced (which is always nice to hear).

Matt Miller is a failure as a lead developer because of issue 13's merit system. Now there's a bunch of hacks and cheats to just make it easier to get it done. The main drive should be about the character not the loot. Now everyone is talking about merits and doing missions they get merits because that's their main drive. That's poor game design. look it up in the rulebook Matt. It's a fact.
